Techne Crates is live now — a growing sample catalog built around focused drops, usable sounds, and a long-term sonic identity

One Asset at a Time

Techne Crates is live now.

What started as a rough packaging idea has turned into the first working version of the system: a place for sample drops, utility sounds, free releases, and eventually a deeper catalog of tools for electronic music.

The idea is simple:

Build useful sounds.
Release them with intention.
Let the catalog compound over time.

No giant anonymous dump of 10,000 files. No filler. No “ultimate mega pack” energy. Just focused drops built around sounds I actually want to use.

What Are Crates?

Crates are the container system for TECHNE sounds.

They are how samples, one-shots, free drops, and future tools get organized into a growing library. Some drops are small and free. Some are paid utility releases. Some may become larger, more refined volumes over time.

The structure may evolve, but the basic idea is still the same:

Mins → Packs → Volumes → Crates

Mins

Mins are small, focused drops.

They are usually built around a specific source, idea, device, or texture: Syntakt percussion, Digitone hits, Prophet sounds, Serum patches, processed drums, FX, or whatever feels useful enough to share.

They are meant to be quick, direct, and usable.

Not every Min needs to be a full product. Some are sketches. Some are experiments. Some are free entry points into the TECHNE sound.

Packs

Packs are more complete curated releases.

A pack may pull from multiple sessions, devices, or sound design passes. The point is not just quantity. The point is utility.

If a Min is a sketch, a Pack is a more deliberate toolset.

Volumes

Volumes are the filter.

These are the more refined releases: sounds that have been tested, organized, cleaned up, named properly, and shaped into something that feels complete.

Utility Vol. 1 is the first real step in that direction: 125 curated one-shots built for fast idea creation — kicks, claps, hats, percussion, and FX.

It is not trying to be everything. It is trying to be useful.

Crates

Crates are the larger archive.

Over time, the goal is for TECHNE Crates to become a living catalog of the label’s sound: free drops, paid packs, utility tools, presets, one-shots, and possibly collaborations with other producers and sound designers who fit the aesthetic.

The value is not just one product.

The value is the library compounding.

Why Build It This Way?

Because I want TECHNE to have a sound, not just a store.

I want releases to feel connected. I want the tools, samples, visuals, and music to come from the same place. Crates are part of that system.

This also keeps the process honest. These are sounds made through actual production work: hardware sessions, software processing, resampling, editing, testing, and revision. Some of them come from tools I use constantly. Some come from experiments that turn into something worth keeping.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is a repeatable process for building useful material over time.

Access

Some drops will be free.

Some will be paid standalone releases.

Some may eventually connect to membership tiers or deeper archive access.

For now, the focus is simple: release useful sounds, build the catalog, and keep improving the system around it.

The Long Game

TECHNE Crates is starting small, but the point is scale through consistency.

One free drop.
One paid volume.
One useful tool.
One better system.
One release at a time.

If you downloaded Min 001: Alpha, thank you. That first free drop helped start the pipeline.

If you picked up Utility Vol. 1, thank you even more. That helps push the next drop forward.

This is the first version of the crate system being alive instead of theoretical.

More soon.
