CLIPPER

Turn it up. Keep the punch.
Drums, bass, buses, the whole mix: push them into it and they get louder without losing their punch. Nothing ducks around the loudest hit.
Buss Comp is included until Buss Comp goes on sale. $49 launch price until Dec 31, then $79.

Clip it. Don't squash it.
A limiter turns the whole track down every time a peak hits. Clipper shaves just the peaks and leaves everything else where it was.
Only the peaks over the line get touched. The vocal, the pads and the hats stay where you put them.
At the same ceiling it gets louder than a limiter before anything sounds crushed. On our drum bus test, noticeably.
Faster, slower, gentler, harder. It's on the panel, not locked inside a preset.
Three ways to clip
One wideband curve, four bands, or frequency by frequency.

Wideband clipping with an adjustable curve from hard to soft. Reduce peaks across the full signal, or drive it harder to add saturation.

Four independently clipped frequency bands, with adjustable crossovers and separate drive controls. Set different amounts of clipping for the bass, midrange and highs.

Reduces individual frequencies before a final wideband clipping stage. TILT, ADAPT and regional DEPTH let you shape where and how much spectral reduction is applied.
Keeps the punch. Holds the ceiling.

PUNCH lets the front of each hit through before the clip, so every hit keeps its crack.
Put back the attack the clip took, then fill out the tail or tighten it.
With WALL on, nothing leaves above your ceiling. Switch on TP and the true peaks stay under it too.
MATCH evens out the level when you bypass, so you judge the clipping, not the boost.
Three factory presets, tagged presets of your own, and two slots to compare settings.
Fold it down to the knobs and a small screen, or drag the edge to scale the whole editor.
Specs
Technical details The engines, the measurements, the meters and the listening tests.
One wideband curve with a knee from brickwall to soft. EDGE tilts the input around 600 Hz (0–6 dB, no gain) so the top bites before the sub flattens. SYMMETRY skews the curve for even harmonics. DETAIL splits off the highs at 2.5 kHz and clips only the lows (off by default).
Four Linkwitz-Riley (LR4) bands with their own drive, knee and solo. The splits and each band's DRIVE drag on the lane.
An STFT clipper: it lowers only the bins over the ceiling, phase untouched. 512, 1024 or 2048-sample windows; a ceiling tilted over frequency and adapted per band on a Bark, Mel, ERB or log layout; a transient gate with a parallel 512-sample path for hits; per-bin attack and release (release in ms or synced to tempo); DEPTH per region, a crossfade toward wideband clipping.
Rotates the waveform’s phase to tuck asymmetric peaks under the ceiling before clipping: more level from fewer harmonics.
A look-ahead CATCH, armed by WALL, that holds sample peaks under CEILING. A separate true-peak stage (TP) reconstructs the output at 16× with the BS.1770 interpolator and holds it 0.1 or 0.3 dB under CEILING at any oversampling setting.
ADAA on every clip curve behind a 90 dB half-band oversampler, 1× to 8× per engine. The worst alias at 4× measures −75 dB; at 8×, −94 dB.
AU v2 on macOS (Logic Pro), VST3 and CLAP on macOS and Windows. Apple silicon and Intel.
BS.1770 true peak; momentary, short-term and integrated LUFS; gain reduction; the catch’s own dB.
TPDF with F-weighted noise shaping, last in the chain.
Three sets, every render matched for loudness and judged by ear. A kick and an 808, blind, against another clipper: SPECTRAL was picked first and CLIP second. A two-bar mix, blind: SPECTRAL and CLIP kept the low end clean; BANDS (built for drums, not mixes) and the other clipper distorted it. A drum bus at −5.8 LUFS and −0.1 dBTP against two limiters at the same level: the limiters made the kick pump and boom, Clipper kept it open.

PUT IT ON YOUR MIX
The demo is the full plugin: every engine, every control, no time limit. After the first clean minute it goes silent for 5 seconds every minute until you activate. Your license key ends that.
